Since consumers turn to the Internet to find sales and deals, implementing online incentives via email will give struggling retailers the edge over their competitors. For less than a penny per sent email, retailers can significantly increase ROI with their marketing budgets.
“Consumers have been conditioned to find these fantastic deals on Black Friday…yes you can find good deals [by getting up early and waiting in line] but you can also find good deals online…that aren’t available to regular retail channels,” comments Thomas Harpointner.
“Free shipping happens to be the single most sought after coupon online–every year.” One of the trendiest incentives is ‘free shipping’. Another trend is communicating with your favorite stores on Facebook and Twitter. “Social networks are not just a way to drive sales and to increase exposure, its also a way to do it less expensively,” says Harpointner.
Thomas Harpointner concludes that now is the time for retailers to get on board with ecommerce stores before it’s too late. This holiday season, is ‘do or die’ for retailers and their brick-and-mortar locations.
