'What You Should Do With Your Website Now' Edplay Magazine's Q&A With Thomas Harpointner April 02, 2009 AIS Media, Inc., CEO, Thomas Harpointner, was featured in Edplay Magazine, one of the leading specialty toy store publications, in a Q&A about where small brick and mortar retailers are finding most success--shifting their marketing dollars online. Using solutions like email marketing and e-commerce storefronts, brick and mortar businesses are finding the Internet a very lucrative marketplace. Harpointner's statements included: I believe it’s absolutely critical. Retailers simply cannot afford not to give customers the added convenience and option of shopping online. It’s what the consumer expects today. The Internet is the number-one place consumers go to educate themselves about products they’re interested in. In 2008, when fuel prices were at an all-time high, even the most tech-reluctant consumers got in the practice of going online and doing some research before driving from store to store or walking around the mall. Today, some consumers may ultimately make that purchase or final transaction in the store, while others may choose to conclude their shopping experience online and have the product delivered to their front door. It’s personal preference. Imagine losing half your customers just because that online, buy-now option isn’t offered. It leaves a lot of money on the table.
