AIS Media CEO, Thomas Harpointner, appears on FOX Business News to discuss Cyber-Monday, December 01, 2008 AIS Media, Inc., CEO, Thomas Harpointner, was interviewed on FOX Business News, December 01, 2008, about the trends for one of the biggest online retail sales days of the holiday season-- Cyber-Monday. His statements included: Cyber-Monday will see about 84 million consumers shopping online this year--a 12 million improvement over last year and "customers this year are very price conscious: they're looking for free shipping deals, ways to save on sales tax, 2-for-1 discounts" and retailers are responding by offering all types of promotions not only to boost their sales online but to drive traffic to their retail stores using search engine optimization to boost their online visibility and email marketing, Harpointner commented. He stated, "the high fuel prices in the summer taught consumers to use their computer as their primary window-shopping device and they're going to do that through the holidays." Harpointner said that as consumers became more online-savvy, they are using the web to find the best bargains and oftentimes "go to the store to make their purchase," but "it's a lot cheaper to sit at home and let your fingers do the walking on the keyboard than drive across town to fight the mall crowds. The retailers that have a good web strategy have a leg up over the competition this year," AIS Media's Harpointner concluded.
