Sarasota Herald Tribune Interviews AIS Media Inc. Regarding Online Holiday Shopping Growth

AIS Media Inc. CEO, Thomas Harpointner, was interviewed by Sarasota Herald Tribune to discuss the growing trend of consumers shopping online for their holiday purchases and what they are on the look out for. His statements included:

Meanwhile, bargain hunters are using the Internet for its "triple advantage" -- easy searches for the best deals, delivered product for savings on gas and a savings on sales tax, said Thomas Harpointner, an online retail consultant and chief executive of AIS Media Inc.

Harpointner expects online sales to rise 21 percent compared to last year. Online sales are expected to bring in $33 billion of the $474 billion expected this holiday season.

While sales got off to a slow start this season, online retailers saw a spike after Thanksgiving, with the heaviest traffic at discount sites like buy.com.
